First Comes the Planning.
What theme we're we going to do this year?
Last year, for Kaelub’s first birthday, everything was basically Green & Black. Most of his things were the color green so it just seemed right.
It was held at this park near home. It had a little sitting area/gazebo & a playground, so it was perfect.
He had fun & he especially liked eating his birthday cupcake. Which I believe was his first-ever cupcake to himself.
This year because he understands more I wanted to have a better theme. That’s just how I am.. I guess maybe it’s too much but I also enjoy planning.
The Theme that we chose was:
Mickey Mouse
Kaelub loves *Mickey Mouse ClubHouse * so I thought it was perfect. He also sleeps with my mickey toy at night. Always asks for him.
So his Daddy & I went out and started getting some things for the party. The Dollarstore/DollarTree are always my go to but we checked out Amazon & Party City for the other items needed.
Decorations * Yellow, Red, Black, & ALL MICKEY.
The Cake * HAS to be A Mickey Cake.
Food * – what will people eat?
I’d like it for all of us to be wearing Mickey shirts but it wasn’t able to be this time around but I was lucky that Kaelub at least already had Mickey shirts of his own.
Guests *
After I figured all that out I had to clean up my apartment & decorate.
Happy Birthday Kaelub
This July Kaelub turned 2.
The party took place on the Saturday after his actual birthday.
I cannot believe that my baby boy is 2 already!!
So for the day of his actual BirthDay I took him to the swimming pool that his Tita (Auntie) works at.
He loves the water, just like I do and did as a kid.
Then after we got home, showered, changed & ate dinner we all – Daddy, Myself, Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Tricia & Cousin TiTi – sang “Happy Birthday” obviously followed by eating Cake & Cupcakes.
A few nights later after Kaelub went to sleep one of my best friends came over to help start decorating and setting everything up for the Party the following day.
The Birthday Party
When Kaelub woke up that morning I told him that we were going to play a game. I said we have to put his blanket in front of his face and run outside. I didn’t want him to notice how the apartment looked before that party later because I knew it would be * so much fun * trying to get him to nap if he were to see it. His Grandparents live in the same building that we do so we usually end up going for Breakfast. Though right as I was almost out, I forgot that I still needed to put on my slippers… He move the blanket & said: “Ohhhh, Look At It!! I Like It!!!” He was so happy. & Nap time that morning was tough but he napped.
The Mickey Balloon
Daddy came with the Mickey Balloon just after people started coming over. I wish I had taken a video of his reaction but he was screaming and loving his “New Friend.” It was a huge hit. All the kids enjoyed having his there. It was pretty cool.
Kaelub hasn’t been to day care as of yet so he doesn’t really have many friends his age. He does however have this one Best Friend of his, X, who is a year older. He was at his birthday party last year also. They had a blast.
My One Friend also brought her niece, which was nice. She is a couple years older than the boys but they all played together great.
It was mainly my tight circle & family who came. Considering what has been going on it was so wonderful to have our close people by to celebrate.
What We Did For Food
My sister & my brother-inlaw, Kaelub’s Auntie & Uncle, made some home made mickey cookies & cupcakes. I had also put out Fruit & Chips.
For Lunch/Dinner we had a Rotisserie Chicken, from Walmart, Mom’s Homemade Potato Salad & Fried rice. Plus we couldn’t forget the 3 Pizza’s.
Drinks: Water, Iced Tea & Juice Coolaid Jammers.
The first gift that he opened was so adorable. He took out the Ball that was on top & Bubbles fell out of the bag as well.. He picked up it, yelled: “OH BUBBLES!” As he ran around the room showing it off to all his guests.
2nd, Was Cake
1st, We Did Gifts
We bought his Birthday Cake at Metro. It was so yummmmy omg. It was Vanilla whit Custard inside. I feel it would have been nicer with some Strawberries also. Came with a Mickey Racer On Top.
Over all I think he had a great Birthday & his Mickey Mouse Theme Party.
