Some would think that the second time around, being pregnant, you would know almost instantly, right? Well that wasn’t exactly the case, for me at least. Even the first time it took me a little to realize what was happening. Yes, I knew I wanted to have more kids eventually or one more for the most part but I already felt like I had so much going on it just didn’t dawn on me in the beginning. Though I understand It does take time to feel the changes going on in your body at first though. Still, I thought I would know sooner or something. Like I’ve already done this before or like my belly would just be magically big all over again right from the start. 🙃 But obviously it doesn’t happen that way.

I started a new job, so being pregnant was the last thought that had even entered my mind. I was trying to get comfortable with the changes of a new work environment and learn a new career with all that it entails. I was alright at first but then I did start to feel extremely tired some days. 😴 I figured it was from just being somewhat overwhelmed with all the new things I was learning and getting into the groove of working a full-time job, 9-5 pm, Monday-Friday. Not to mention that on work days/mornings I had to wake up early to make sure that my son, Kaelub (my almost 4-year-old) was up, fed, dressed, and ready for daycare before leaving to walk him to his “school.” Being tired well, to be honest, seemed normal, I just had to get used to it. Until one day I started feeling a headache coming on.. now I have had headaches just like everyone else but the strange part was I had headaches for almost a week straight which was very odd for me.

Besides that I was peeing more than usual.. and I feel like I pee a lot as it is but I didn’t think anything of it at first as I was constantly drinking my water. So I wasn’t taking that into consideration. (Though it is a sign when it comes to early symptoms.)
I was waiting on my period. I thought to myself one day that It was almost that time. I was a bit crampy. I just couldn’t recall exactly when my last period was. I felt like I had it literally the weekend before I started working this new job. I did have an period tracking app that I tried to usually regularly but sometimes I would forget so I couldn’t really go back and see what date it was supposed to come by. As I said I was so focused on getting into the new changes surrounding having a new job I didn’t realize how late I was.
Another big flag for me was the fact that I didn’t want to drink my weekly weekend beer. I know it seems weird but I like my beer and it was kind of like my reward for getting through the work week. But I just didn’t want it, my mind and my body was all just saying “No!” 🍻 I really just wanted to be lazy on the couch, watch my shows and then go to bed.
After about a week my period still never came.
I think it’s time I went and bought a Pregnancy Test!
& that I did. One day after work I got off the bus a few stops before home and went to the store and bought a test. Here we go again. I got home, took a deep breathe, sat on the toilet and right as soon as I peed on the stick… SURPRISE!

Surprise! I’m pregnant again.

Due December, 2022.
